Chapter 1 - Overview of the Techniques

To follow my success of getting your listings in the top 10 of Google, it's as simple as posting free classified ads on websites.  Those ads will get indexed and listed within Google, hopefully in the top listings for your keyword phrases which will drive FREE traffic to your website.  I'm going to mention keywords and keyword phrases a lot throughout this ebook.  A keyword or keyword phrase is something that a user inputs in the search box when they go to Google.  For example, if someone was looking for to buy a Motorola Razr cell phone, they may type this phrase into Google to find websites to purchase the phone at.  "Motorola Razr cell phone" is the keyword phrase.  In order to get your website listed in Google, you will have to come up with several keywords and phrases that you want to want to post ads with that will get indexed by Google.

Note that is is not Pay Per Click advertising which is completely the opposite technique from this ebook.  All the traffic and clicks to your website are completely free and will not cost you anything because your ads will appear in the organic listings of Google which are far different from "Sponsored Listings" in Google where advertisers pay Google for each time someone clicks on your ad.  Below I have showed you an example of Google for the keyword "cheap sony dvd players"

I'm also going to show you how you can quadruple your traffic to your website in a later chapter, but right now we are going to focus on finding the right keywords for your website that you will write ads on so that they can get you listed in the top 10 of Google.  The most important thing is to post ads with keywords that are relevant to your site.  You don't want to advertise on a keyword "DVD Player" if you are selling "Car Audio".  No one is going to stay at your site for more than two seconds if you are selling car audio and the visitor is looking for dvd players.  My point is that posting ads with targeted keywords is far better than posting many ads with non targeted or relevant keywords.

This system is very easy to do yourself and the results can be instant.  Just follow the steps listed in the next few chapters and you will have top listings in Google that can be repeated over and over again with unlimited keywords and websites.

Chapter 2 - Signing up for Your Advertising Account

The website that will be delivering your ads to Google, is US Free Ads.  A little about US Free Ads.  This is a website that's been around since 1999 and they have classified listing websites all over the US.  So not only will your website be listed in Google, but you will also get all the traffic exposure from the US Free Ad network of visitors.  It's a very large network of visitors that will be viewing your ad, but we're not focusing on that, we are concerned with getting top Google placement.  This site will allow you to post just about any ad for anything you want, so most all websites will be able to use this system.  Adult ad postings may violate their terms, so if you are running an adult site, please check with them first.  You can view their terms of service to double check to see if your website is allowed to be advertised on their network.

So go ahead and sign up for your account with US Free Ads here.  Registration will only take a minute so you can get that step complete now if you want.  There are three different plans you can sign up with US Free Ads.  The recommended plan is to sign up for the Premium account which is only $9.99 per month, but I can tell you that this is the best investment that I spend each month to have literally hundreds of listings in Google, all free!  However you can sign up for the free plan at first to test out, but it will only allow you to post a maximum of two ads which might not give you the best results.

It's up to you which plan you choose, but my recommendation is that if you are serious about using this system to drive hundreds of listings in Google, then go ahead and sign up for the Premium account, you'll be glad you did right away.  So you can go now and sign up for your account or there will be another link at the end of this ebook.  Like I said earlier, it's important to follow and implement this system step by step so it can work for you.

Chapter 3 - Finding Your Keywords

As I said, finding the right keywords for your website will determine if your ad is going to appear in the top of Google or not.  Again, what I mean by keywords for those who do not understand, is a search term that someone types in Google to find a list of websites that matches their search.  For instance, someone is searching the Internet to find dvd players to buy, so they go to Google and type in "DVD players".  Google will list all the websites that have dvd players listed somewhere in their website and the most relevant ones at the top.  Your goal is to pick keywords for your website that best describes what you are trying to promote so the chances of getting traffic to your site increases.  So if you are selling DVD players on your website, you will want to look at all the different dvd player keyword combinations that you can post ads with.

Let me first explain I am not going to show you how to get in the first position of Google for a keyword such as dvd players or televisions.  There are millions of websites competing for this top spot with those keywords and it will be almost impossible to acheive the top spot in Google.  I'm going to show you how to get in the top for more descriptive keywords and phrases, which in turn are more targeted keywords.  Remember that more targeted keywords equal more sales.  Someone searching for a dvd player could be looking for several different things such as buying a dvd player, getting reviews on a dvd player, or dvd repair/support.  So even if you had a top spot in Google for dvd players, you will get a lot of untargeted traffic to your site, which wouldn't lead to many sales if you were selling DVD players.  Let's instead focus on the more targeted and less competetive keywords.  For example, what about "buy a dvd player".  That's a pretty targeted keyword that is saying the person searching on Google is looking to buy a dvd player which is what you're selling.  You have a great chance they will browse you site for dvd players and hopefully make a purchase if they find the right one.

How do you find keywords?  There is a free tool I use here that will show you how many times the keyword has been searched along with other suggestions to go along with your keyword that you can use.  Just put in your keyword you want to search and click on the blue arrow.  For this example, I'm going to type in "dvd player" and see what I get back.

Now if you were selling DVD players on your website this gives you a lot of suggestions on the type of keywords that users are searching for that you can test and see if you can get your site in the top of Google.  It's time to begin another technique I use to determine how competitive a keyword that will determine if I can get the keyword in the top of Google.  All you have to do is go to Google.com and then put the search term you want to check on in quotes.  What the quotes does is tells you how many websites have the term listed exactly as "dvd player" somewhere on their website.  If you just typed in dvd player in Google, it's going to bring back results of website with the match "player dvd" somehwere listed in the website.  I don't want to get too technical or make this all confusing, but just remember that to determine how competitive a keyword is, you will go to Google and put that keyword in quotes.  So let's try "dvd player" and see what we get.

So as you can see, there are 65,500,000 websites that are competing or listing that keyword dvd player somewhere in their website.  That is way too many websites to compete for a top 10 listing in Google for that keyword and again is untargeted, so now it's time to test another keyword.  This time, I'm going to try "Sony dvd player".

With this example there is much less competiting websites for that term, but still 650,000 sites are still too many to try and steal a top 10 listing in Google.  Sony is a popular brand, so I'm going to look at a less popular brand such as Insignia and then look for portable as listed as a suggetion by overture above.

Wow, what a difference as only 742 websites have "Insignia portable dvd player" somewhere in their website.  That's definitely a keyword term that I will want to write down for later use.  I can almost guarantee that you can get a top 10 Google listing with this search term. So if you have an Insignia portable dvd player on your website, you will want to write an ad for this search term.  If you don't, then I wouldn't bother testing this term as it would do you no good to write an ad about Insignia portable dvd players if you are selling Sony dvd players on your website.  The user isn't looking for Sony dvd players, so they will most likely leave your website right away.  There you have it, start testing all the keywords from the overture suggestion tool above such as: dual screen dvd player, minitek portable dvd player, etc.

My suggestion is that you can get a top 10 listing with any search term that has less than 5,000 competing sites.  By competing sites, I'm talking about the last number that is circled in red from each example above.  You may get lucky and get in a top listing for 10,000 or more competing sites, but I wouldn't recommend it.  Start small and then keep working your way up in numbers.  You're probably thinking that all the keywords that have low competition don't get searched much and won't bring any traffic to your site.  This is true, however just think of how many targeted ads you can post if you are selling dvd players.  You can post the ads for brand names such as Insignia, Minitek, etc.  As you saw from the above example, there were 762 people that searched for an Insignia dvd player in one month and if you had a top 10 listing in Google, you could probably expect to get over 100 clicks or so in a month just from that ad.  Multiply that by all the different brands that you are selling that that will add up to a lot of clicks per day for you!

Let's take another example for a website that isn't selling products, but rather promoting an ebook about ways to improve your volleyball skills.  The first thing I'm going to do is go the overture keyword tool to get lots of suggestions that people are searching for the term "volleyball".

I found two good keywords that I could test out on Google that would be relevant to my ebook I'm selling about learning and improving your volleyball game.  Let's test out the competition on Google.  First we'll test out "how to play volleyball"

You can see that there are 9,600 competing websites for that search term "how to play volleyball" which is over my 5,000 competing sites rule, but it could be worth a try anyway as you could get listed in the 3rd or 4th page possibly.  Let's look at the next term now, for volleyball skill drill.

Cool, only 202 competing websites, so I'm definitely going to write an ad promoting the improve your volleyball game ebook for this search term.  I can probably expect a top 10 listing in Google for this keyword phrase.  Those are just two examples of different types of websites that I found keywords for my site that I can write ads for on US Free Ads to get listed in the top 10 of Google.  Let's put these keywords in action and create ads.

Chapter 4 - Writing Your Ads

It's now time to put your keywords to work and start writing ads on US Free Ads to get your listings appear in the top of Google.  The first thing you will want to do if you haven't already is sign up for an account at US Free Ads

The next thing you want to do is post a classified ad by clicking on the "Place Classified" link as shown below.

Then you will click the category your ad should appear in.  Now this really isn't important for getting listed in Google, but as I mentioned earlier, US Free Ads has a large network of visitors so you can get good traffic just from these visitors.  So it's important to put your ad in the correct category for US Free Ads visitors.  I'm going to place an ad for the volleyball ebook website example I did in an earlier chapter.  I'll want to select the Sports category as shown below.

Then I'll click on the sub category for Volleball.

The next screen is if you want to setup personal categories.  For instance if you have multiple websites, you can setup separate categories so once you place a lot of ads, you will be able to view ads by your personal categories.  It's just an option and has no effect on your Google listing placement.

The next option let's you select what type of ad you want to place.  You're probably wondering by now what are you going to write about in your ad since your more concerned with just getting people to your website than focus on your ads.  This is exactly the point.  We don't want people spending lots of time on your ad because you want to ultimately drive them to your website.  So the main thing is to keep your ads short (but more than a couple sentences) and sweet.  Get people excited and they will click on a link to your website.  You won't have to do any extra work typically in writing the ads, because you can usually just copy info from your website and paste that in your ad.

For instance, if I'm going to write the ad about promoting my volleyball ebook, I'm going to list several points on how my ebook will help them improve their volleyball game, give a brief description of some of the highlights, and put a picture of the ebook.  That's it!  Get them to click on your link somewhere in the ad to drive them to your website to find out more info about the ebook.  Anyway, as shown below you can select the choice of ad you want place such as a regular ad, enhanced ad with tools to help you make it stand out, or copy and pasting HTML code.  My suggestion is to use the enhanced classified tool as it works similar to Microsoft Word by having the tools at the top to make your ad look professional.

The next step is actually placing your classified ad.  The most important thing you want to do when placing your ad is having your keyword in your ad title.  Google places the most weight or emphasis on ranking for ads with keywords in the title.  So for this example, I'm going to put "Volleyball Skill Drill" in the title as shown below.  Then I can add anything I want after that.

For the actual ad, I'm just going to copy text I already have from my website, but I'm going to highlight the main points and get them interested in the product to drive them to my website.  Below is sample of the website I'm promoting the ebook and will copy the text there into the US Free Ad.

Start by copying the text and images from your website and just paste that in your US Free Ad.  Below is an example of my ad I placed.  Remember make it short and sweet but also interesting so they want to learn more and click on the link to your website.  Always make sure you put the search term in the top of your ad.  Also highlight the term and click the drop down box where it says "Paragraph" and make it an "H1".  This puts more emphasis on the keyword phrase so it increases its rankings for Google.

Put a picture of the product you are advertising.

Make sure you also put the keyword phrase as the last words in your ad as the footer.  Most importantly put a link to your website in your ad so you get people to your site.  You can put your link in as much as you want and I found once in the middle and at the end works great for me.

Once you are done with your ad, click on the "Continue" button at the bottom and you will see a preview of how your ad will look.  If your ad preview appears wider than the arrows, then just click the "wide layout option" box at the bottom.  This will determine the formatting US Free Ads will do to your ad to make sure the alignment looks okay.

.

Finally, click on "Save Classified" and it will now be saved to the system, ready to be spidered by Google and ultimately get in the top 10 listings!

5. Checking Your Results

Now it's time for the exciting part as you've done all the hard work and you're ready to see your ad in the top of Google.  My suggestion is to check every couple of days after you've placed the ad, to see if your ad is there yet.  I've experienced my ad being listed at the top of Google in as little as 1 day and as long as 2-3 weeks, so it really just depends on many different factors.  The average time you should expect to see your listing would be around 5 days.

It's very easy to check your results.  Just go to google.com and type in the search phrase that you listed in your ad title.  For example, I'm going to check on the volleyball ad example that I created in the last chapter.  I'll first go to google and type in the search phrase: volleyball skill drill as shown below.

Notice that the first 4 listings are shown along with 4 paid listings or sponsored links to the right.  The next screen shot below will show you the entire first page with all the listings.

As you can see, the example ad that I created made the top page in google out of 334,000 websites competing for that same keyword phrase!  It took about 5 days to get in that spot.  You can also see that there are 5 websites on the right hand side under the sponsored listings that are paying for that keyword phrase and every time someone clicks on their website link, they have to pay Google!  You can get all the clicks you want for FREE!

Now I didn't get a number one spot in this example, but getting on the first page is still very valuable and will bring in lots of free traffic.  Just look at the other websites above my ad though.  Most of them don't even mention the keyword "volleyball skill drill" exactly except for my ad, so I'll more than likely get more clicks and visitors to my ad than the websites above me.  That's not to say that my ad won't increase in ranking either.  I've seen it where my ads have gotten a better position over time, so go ahead and monitor your own ads to check the ranking.

Next I'll click on the link in Google to make sure it takes me to my ad that eventually leads to my website to make sure everything looks okay and the links are working properly.  (It's important to test and check your links to make sure they work because you could be sending a lot of traffic to dead links!)

As you can see the google listing lead me directly to my ad which is displaying properly.  You can also notice that I've already had 31 views of my ad which is pretty good for only being listed in Google for a couple of days now.  Keep an eye on your ad views to see how many people are clicking on your ad.

As I said earlier, click on the link in your ad to make sure it's working and directing people to your website or the site you are promoting.  This is where you want to get the traffic of course.  That's why it's very important to make your ad short (but not too short), sweet, and grab the visitors attention, so they ultimately click on the link in your ad.  I've tested the link as shown below and it directs me to the website I want people to visit.

The above was just one example of one of the keyword phrases I wrote an ad for.  You can repeat these steps by writing ads for a number of other keywords that relate to the website you are promoting.  Furthermore, this was just one example of how this can be done for this particular website that is selling an ebook on how to get better at volleyball, but there are an unlimited possibilities of different types of websites you can post ads for and grab a top 10 listing in Google.

Just to show you one more example, I posted another ad for a different type of  website the same day.  This example is for a retail website selling a number of different products.  Below is a sample of the website I am promoting as you can see there are hundreds of different products on this website, which is great, because that means there are hundreds of keywords or ads I can write and grab top listings in Google for many products I'm selling on the site!

After some testing as I did in the first example, I found a good product that I could write an ad for and try to grab a top 10 listing.  It was for an oreck hand mixer.  I found that 34 people were searching for that term last month, which may not seem like a lot, but if I've got hundreds of products on a website there's potentially hundreds of keywords and ads I can write on which can really ad up.

So I wrote another ad on US Free Ads, just copying the description and an image from the website I was promoting.  Below is a screen shot of the first page of the Google listings for an "oreck hand mixer".

As you can see I got another top 10 listing in google, a number 6 spot to be exact!  For this term, there's over 10 sponsored listings paying for a spot for that keyword!  Again, I get all the clicks I want for FREE!  Below is a screenshot of my ad when I clicked on the listing from Google.

I've already had 20 ad views with this only being listed in Google for a couple of days as well.  One tip that I'll share on maximizing the chance that your visitors will click on your website link within your ad and stay on your website for more than one second, is to link the visitor directly to the description page of the oreck hand mixer.  Many people will just write ads for a website like this and direct all their links to their home page.  It might be okay for some visitors, but the majority of the time, many people don't want to waste their time searching for a product within your website if they are directly searching for an 'oreck hand mixer'.  With my example, my link takes them directly to the description page for the oreck hand mixer which will increase my chance the visitor will stay on my site and buy the product. That's just a little tip for people that are selling a lot of products on their website.

Those are just two examples of two different types of websites I wrote ads for on US Free Ads to grab a top spot in Google that links to my website.  As I said the possibilities are endless and you can do this with as many keywords that describes the website or items on your website that are within the competition guidelines I explained in an earlier chapter.

6. Getting More Listings in Google

This technique that I'm about to describe, is not required to do at this stage, but can be implemented after you are comfortable posting ads on US Free Ads.  There are other sites that you can use these same techniques on to get your website in the top of Google to maximize your website exposure and traffic.  Article and ezine sites are also heavily indexed by Google, so it's another way to get your website link listed in an article to be posted in the top of Google.  By writing articles on a particular subject regarding your website, you are able to include a resource box, or information that you can advertise your website or business.  Anyone that reads or uses your article has to include the resource box that will have a link to your website so you get more traffic writing articles.  You may be thinking what kind of articles can you write?  Well just think about any topic or subject about your website that you can inform someone on.  It can be a lead into some more information to your website.

Some good article sites are:

http://www.EzineArticles.com

http://www.GoArticles.com

http://www.SearchWarp.com

This can take more time to write articles, but sometimes the article sites get indexed faster than US Free Ads.  However, I would only encourage you to write articles after you have posted ads on US Free Ads since it's much easier to just copy and paste information than to write an entire article.  Writing articles is for someone who wants to get maximum exposure and traffic to their website on several keyword phrases.  So start with US Free Ads to begin learning the process, and then later down the road, maybe writing articles can get you more traffic.

7. Conclusion

I hope I've showed you how powerful this technique can be of grabbing a top listing in Google for free in just days!  It's really amazing at how easy this is once you've posted your first couple of ads.  You can keep repeating this technique for an unlimited amount of keyword phrases and websites.  It works for any type of website.  The best part is that it's also free to get your ad listed in Google unlike having to pay each time someone clicks on your ad for Google's sponsored listings.

If you haven't already, sign up for your US Free Ads account here.  As I said earlier, if you're serious about getting a lot of traffic to your site, go ahead and sign up for the premium account.  You can sign up for the free account, but that's really not going to do you any good as it only allows you to post two ads.  Think about this for a minute.  Is the $9.99 for the US Free Ads account worth unlimited FREE traffic to your website each month?  How many clicks can you get to your website for $9.99 using pay per click advertising?  Maybe 40 quality hits if you're lucky at 25 cents a click.  That's just my suggestion, and I can tell you from personal experience its the best $9.99 per month that I invest in out of anything else for a huge return!  Also with the premium account, you get to put in paypal buy now buttons, so you can actually sell products directly from your US Free Ads account and make money right from your ad without taking them to a website.

Just to summarize briefly on how to begin is to research your keyword phrases that you come up with for your website.  Then test them out using the tools mentioned in the earlier chapter to decide if it's worth it to post an ad for.  A very good keyword tool that I use to save me a lot of time is Ad Eqaulizer.  It's worth checking out if you're going to post a lot of ads.  Once you have your keyword phrases picked out, post your ads on US Free ads.  Start monitoring your results by searching for the keyword phrase you posted an ad on in Google.  You should do this every couple of days to see the progress.  Remember don't get discouraged if your first couple of ads don't make it into Google.  There can be several reasons for this including some that will never be determined.  Just make sure you follow the steps in creating your ad as those are important for Google to index the keyword phrase you're posting an ad on.

A few final tips for getting a top ranking in Google:

  • Make sure you pick keyword phrases that are less than 5,000 websites in competition, but usually less than 1,000 for better results.

  • Always include the keyword phrase in the header of the ad, and the footer.  Make sure you mention the keyword phrase a couple other times within the ad for maximum Google placement results.

  • Write good ads that grab the visitors attention.  Remember you're trying to get the visitor to click on your link in the ad to drive them to your website.  So make your ad catchy and grab their attention so they are interested in what you have to offer.

  • Keep testing different keyword phrases and start posting as many ads as you can.  The best results you are going to get are from your own research and testing.  Keep doing what works, and throw out what didn't work.

So go ahead and get started and drive unlimited, free traffic to your website by grabbing a top listing in Google!
